Online Business Success Begins With Mindset – FA019

How we perceive the world and the events that happen around us and to us greatly affects your success.  It may even determine whether you succeed or fail.

In this episode, Izzy and Tim go on a meandering walk through mindset.  This one is more philosophical, but still has some practical ideas you can use in your life to get your online business going and make it a success.

I hadn’t been to the website recently, so I’m not sure when you made the changes – I absolutely love the logo and the look-great job! Keep up the great work Izzy and Tim! I am now listening to Paperclippings, DigiShow and Foolish Adventure and love all 3!! Thank you, Thank you! Lynnette

Great show as always! I think that one of the biggest obstacles of getting an online business going is information overload. You study, read, investigate everything that is around you, but you do not take action. I say this because I am the perfect example.I have a lot of info, a lot of creativity and a lot of BS. This last BS does not help me take action.

However, I think I am getting out of this paralysis. Your show has helped me a lot. I have one simple suggestion that I read or heard somewhere: KISS (keep it simple stuped). The best thing you can do is to write in simple every day words small baby steps that are doable and actionable. And please, do not try to be fancy, sophisticated of super duper superman. Keep it simple. And most of all have fun with it.

I tried starting a web-based music business with a friend this year. Unfortunately, we never got to proof of concept as he suffered from “analysis paralysis.”

    Hey guys
I just want to say thank you for the weekly podcasts. I’ve now got myself into a routine where I work on my online idea while I listen to you both. I find I am getting alot done while I listen because the podcast is like a reminder to get things done!

Good reminder of how to get where you want to go instead of whining about where you are.

One thing that has really helped me with business and app development is to only put one thing on your To Do List per day. Put the most important thing that needs to be done to achieve your goal. Oh yeah, and make sure you complete it! If you have time to do something else that’ s a bonus, but focus on the main task for the day. Before you know it, you will be finished/achieving your goal. That is K.I.S.S. at it’s best :-)

Hey, I’m listening to this episode right now, and I’m laughing at myself as I see how some stuff you’re saying relates to my current situation, which is only loosely related to business. I’ve been told before that I need to act and not react (mostly by my dad when I was a teenager . . . hmm . . . wonder why . . . ), and I hadn’t thought about that for a while. But as I listened to Tim talk about it again, I thought about what’s going on in my life right now and how I really did get myself to where I am and how I’m REALLY going to get myself to somewhere better soon.
I chose to be where I am now, and even if I didn’t personally cause all the problems I’m dealing with, I can choose how to respond to them. In fact, I’ve already decided on my next big step, so now I’m waiting for the right time to take that step. I’m in control of that.
Anyway, I love listening to the show, and it inspires me to try some of the stuff I’ve always thought about doing.

I like your world traveling spirit. Are you teaching English in Korea?

You made a statement at the end of your comment about waiting for the right time. They never come. You have to make the right time happen. Make your right time be today.

Yeah, I am teaching here. I’ve lived in a couple other countries doing various things, and I thought I would enjoy this as much as I did my previous experiences, but this has been a bust. When I came, I was planning to stay a year. Now that I’ve been in Korea three months, I can’t wait to get out of here! As soon as I made the decision to leave early, I was a lot happier. Now I’m just biding my time until I can get out of my employment contract legally.

I agree that there’s never a perfect time, so it’s important to make time work for you.

    Thanks!
