Turning Expertise Into An Internet Business – FA054

Career Expertise Plus Passion Creates A Growing Info-Product Business

Izzy and Tim interview Foolish Adventure member, Jules Watkins of PocketVideoPower.com about his Internet business.

You’ll get an inside look at a growing online-based information product business. Jules’ story may sound familiar — it may sound much like your own, where he was tired of using his knowledge, time and energy to build wealth for others and not creating any long-term assets for himself.

The industry Jules is in can be taxing where a team of film professionals come together for short-term projects and then need to go looking for the next job. The film industry means a lot of travel and long hours with little time left for family let alone building a business.

But, Jules has been able to get a business off the ground and has growing sales. Listen to this candid interview where Jules shares the trials and tribulations of creating an Internet business and…

Hear the joys of the first sale, and then the next and the next. Learn how creative promotion ideas drove sales, especially with the Royal Wedding celebrations in the UK.

This is both an inspiring tale and instructional story of a family man turning his expertise into a business.

Enjoy your Foolish Adventure,

Tim and Izzy

Thanks for inviting me on the show. Under the pressure of being ‘as live’ with Internet Marketing Royalty (meaning yourselves) I went blank on my second unplanned sales boost.

Of course it came back to me straight after. I became an affiliate of an A list marketer and supported his excellent product launch and pointed out how good his sales videos were and offered a bonus if people signed up. What in fact happened is no-one bought his product through my link but some people got reminded that they really wanted my (lower ticket) product and joined mine!

This is a fantastic, inspiring episode. I’m so glad for Jules success. I appreciate the insight on how you established your product, created your website, the tools you used, the challenges you faced building an audience for PocketVideo. Jules comment about working out free video hosting in exchange for some banner space is a clever and resourceful idea. I have found that some vendors are far more willing to do this kind of arrangement – if you ask nicely and provide return value to them.

A really abrupt ending. Are you sure you got the entire mp3 file?

  • http://FoolishAdventure.com Tim Conley

If you listened on the site, the issue was the player audio length was incorrect.  I fixed it and it continues playing the whole file now.

Jules was such a great guest. Humble but confident. More guests from FoolishU please!

Absolutely quality interview. I agree with Jules that one of the biggest challenges is:..How do you get the audience for your product?

  • http://FoolishAdventure.com Tim Conley

Definitely, trying to attract people in a world where everyone and everything is vying for their attention is difficult. Thankfully it is a skill that can be learned.
