P30 – Day 1: Just Say Yes

There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstance permit. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results. ~ Unknown.

Welcome to your first day!

This month is going to be a challenge, no doubt.

There will be plenty of times along the way when you’re slogging through the creation process where you may well think about pausing, or putting it off until there’s more time, or quitting altogether. The road can be long and lonely, and the work isn’t easy.

The good news is that the other side of the creation process is amazing. When you’re holding that printout of your first product in your hands, created completely by you…well, there’s no feeling like it. It’s like winning a marathon and an Iron Man competition and being a rock star all in one.

So today, here’s what we’re asking you to do:

Commit fully to what you’re about to do. See that end point in your mind. Really feel how it will feel to have your product fully completed and ready to release upon the world.

And tell yourself that quitting isn’t an option. That you’ll accept no excuses, only results, and that those results are going to be the best thing ever.

You won’t regret it.

ACTION TASK:
Either in the comments or just on the back of an envelope on your desk, write up your commitment to the project. Make it perfectly clear that not only could you finish in 30 days, but you will finish.

Post a printout of your commitment (or the envelope itself) somewhere near your workspace.

TOMORROW:
We’re going to look at picking and narrowing down the focus of our product to a razor-sharp point. Get ready, folks — tomorrow, we dive in.

Enjoy your Foolish Product Creation,

Tim and Elli

3 Tips on Writing Down Your Goal as an Affirmation

    1. Don’t cram too many things into one affirmation. Keep each one focused on one idea.

    2. Keep your affirmations in the positive at all times! If you have trouble staying positive, write down what you don’t want and reverse it.
Example: Instead of stating, “I don’t want these bills anymore” (negative) try “Money flows to me endlessly” or “My bank account is always full” (positive).

    3. Phrase your affirmations as if they are already occurring in your life.
Example: Instead of stating, “I want to find a perfect soul mate” (future) try “I’m in the process of finding my soul mate” or “I am now attracting my soul mate” (present).

Pheeeeouph, I am glad to say that I am NOT participating because I just went through launch hell during the past two months where I created my second product, developed a website for it and (kinda) launched it. Well, it wasn’t hell, but it was grueling, I do kind of feel like Tim wrote in the post, like I’ve given birth to a baby or completed an Iron Man or something! Product was over 20,000 words in end.

So… I am going to sit this one out as November will be more of a marketing month for me :)   <> Good luck to all participants!! And remember, one of my fav quotes, “Progression, not perfection”
    :)
