P30 – Day 21: Tiny Steps to Awesome
I have a great respect for incremental improvement, and I’ve done that sort of thing in my life, but I’ve always been attracted to the more revolutionary changes. I don’t know why. Because they’re harder. They’re much more stressful emotionally. And you usually go through a period where everybody tells you that you’ve completely failed. ~ Steve Jobs
By now, hopefully, the feedback has started to roll in, and you’ve probably gone through your own product more than once to edit and proofread. Now, then, is the time to take a look at the feedback (with as much objectivity as you can), and make any necessary changes.
Tiny changes — a misspelling corrected, a different horizontal rule that matches your branding, changes to icons or swapping out images — are all part of a constant improvement process that will make your product the absolute best it will be.
After all, when it comes time to sell this thing, the part that will make it the easiest is having one totally kick-ass product that you completely believe in.
ACTION TASK:
Make your product totally kick-ass. Evaluate and implement feedback, if appropriate, and make any tiny changes that you think leads it from good to great.
TOMORROW:
No matter how good your product is, you won’t make a dime on it if nobody knows about it. Tomorrow, we dip a toe into the often-murky waters of Marketing, and start talking about ways to launch your amazingness.
